Dicky Vlayen is a photographer, filmmaker and graphic artist, but especially
an artist with enormous enthusiasm, métier and versatility. He effortlessly
combines noble processes such as the ‘heliogravure’ with digital media.
Not afraid to experiment, he places his images in dialogue with dance, music
and performance. His graphic works are of almost obscene scenes:
Davincian nudes set to images of honest beauty bear witness of the thin line
between ethics, aesthetics and eroticism.
It could be an indictment against any form of the conditioning of man in a
rationalized, controlled and dictatorial world.
I say 'may be' because for him, it doesn’t matter,
